my thoughts at three a.m.

burrowing into my brain

me spooking myself

The new Troiku

my thoughts at three a.m.

burrowing into my brain

me spooking myself

my thoughts at three a.m.

why are you always troubled

this hour unhallowed

burrowing into my brain

like worms in a long-dead corpse

spirits of the past

me spooking myself

my true talent in this life

no comfort to give

Choose one of your poems from the beginning of the month and revise it.

I guess you could say I revised it, but I think it's more of an expansion.

I took the first poem I wrote this month and turned it into a Troiku.

A Troiku is a form created by Chèvrefeuille of Carpe Diem Haiku.

I added text art and effects to the base image using Pixlr. You're welcome to share the results, but please credit Cara Hartley/Ornery Owl if you do. A link back to this blog is also appreciated.

Vampirella and I agree that 3 AM thoughts aren't as bad when you have someone to discuss them with.

The character depicted isn't intended to be Vampirella, but she has a similar appearance.

Vampirella is an attractive, scantily clad relative of Uncle Creepy and Cousin Eerie. She's a benevolent alien vampire hailing from the planet Drakulon, and is one of the first friends this weird and lonely precocious reader of Poe and horror comic aficionado had in this life.

It's been a long time since I've had time to link up with D'Verse Poets open link.

In keeping with my quest to manage my anxiety (and, in doing so, lessen the severity of the symptoms from my vocal cord dysfunction) here's my comment participation method.

I use Random.org to select five blogs to visit and comment on. I appreciate any visits I get but please don't feel like you have to comment. I am always working on multiple projects at any given time and I don't have time to pay attention to how many comments a given post does or doesn't get. Thanks for understanding!

  3. Love how you "fleshed" out the spookiness... it certainly added body (or corpse)

  4. You taught me the term "troiku" - thank you! And don't sell yourself short - you confessing to spooking yourself may actually BE a comfort to others.

We love comments, with three caveats.
Be cool, Fool.
Don't be rude, Dude.
Don't be a prick, Slick.
That's all, Saul.
I try to get comments published as quickly as possible. I don't always reply to comments on my blog, but I do try to visit as many people as possible when I participate in blog hops and I share links where possible to Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and such so others can discover your work. I do read and appreciate your comments.
