Ornery Photography: Sepia Haze

All photos are copyright 2020 by Cara Hartley. You are welcome to use them, but please credit me.

The yellow house on the left in the bottom photo is where my son and I live. The only way we could have a house of this size is by living in the middle of nowhere. The house was built in 1910.

I don't know if you can see how hazy it is. The top two photos were taken yesterday. The sun was red. Today you can't even see the sun because of the smoke.

We are getting smoke from the fire near Red Feather Lakes, which is Northwest of Fort Collins. Fort Collins is one of our neighboring cities. It is about 60 miles away. Our closest neighboring city is Cheyenne at 45 miles away.

We are also getting the smoke from the West Coast fires.

We had an air quality alert warning people not to drive today. I stepped outside for a few minutes to take the pictures and went back in. I have asthma, so a long walk in this smoky haze wouldn't be the best plan.

I don't understand how people can continue to deny climate change. These kinds of disasters are becoming more common every year.

Anyway, there is today's cheery photo set.
