The Tree and the Knight: A Shadorma

The Tree and the Knight:
A Shadorma
 Beneath my
Branches he murdered
The vixen
Her pelt he
Now drapes shamelessly across
His brutish shoulders

~Opal~

  1. It amazes me how you manage to tell a complete tale in so few words.

    1. Thanks, W. It amazes me that I was able to do so within the syllable constraints.

  2. I hadn't heard of a Shadorma before. Great job! It must have been tough to get the syllables exactly right.

    1. I haven't attempted a Shadorma yet, but I enjoy doing Haiku. It's deceptively simple, or simply deceptive! ;-)

  4. So glad someone else felt sorry for the fox, too!
I'm in the middle of a poem to the poor dead thing.

    1. The members of Team Netherworld aren't keen on fur. In the modern age, there's no reason to wear fur. The animals that are raised for their fur are kept in tiny cages for their entire miserable lives--well, won't get on the old soapbox.

  5. I don't know how I missed this delightful take on the prompt ... very well written a superb shadorma and I enjoyed the pungent reproval of that dasderdly knight!
