Jade

Jade vine by David Clode on Unsplash

utter the word jade
the first thought is stones of green
not plants or rivers

notes
Write a poem without pronouns.

Yeah, I needed a little more to go on. So here's the second prompt.

It's been many decades since I took an English class, so I had to be sure "the" isn't a pronoun. It's not. It's an article. Here's an article explaining.

"So, what's all this about plants and rivers, Owl?"

The plant pictured is a jade plant.

There is a Jade River in Germany.

I added text art and effects to the base image using Pixlr. You are welcome to share the Haiga (which isn't one of my best, but it's what I had in me today), but please credit Cara Hartley/Ornery Owl if you do. A link back to this blog would also be appreciated.

There's your grammar lesson for today, Kids. Don't say I never gave you nothin'.

We love comments, with three caveats.
Be cool, Fool.
Don't be rude, Dude.
Don't be a prick, Slick.
That's all, Saul.
I try to get comments published as quickly as possible. I don't always reply to comments on my blog, but I do try to visit as many people as possible when I participate in blog hops and I share links where possible to Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and such so others can discover your work. I do read and appreciate your comments.
