OctPoWriMo 2014: Day 20

Down the Rabbit Hole
by John Tenniel
Public Domain

Too Late

Too little too late
Too much too soon
Soon it will all be over
Over the next rise
Rise with the sun
Sun shines bright
Bright lights, big city
City girls just seem to find out early
Early bird catches the worm
Worm your way into my heart
Heart of glass
Glass house
House of cards
Cards in hand
Hand in glove
Glove fits snug
Snug as a bug in a rug
Rug hides dust
Dust of time
Time to hurry
Hurry up and wait
Wait for me
Me and you
You forgot
Forgot to remember
Remember my face
Face the facts
Facts of life
Life and death
Death comes knocking
Knocking down doors
Doors of perception
Perception of reality
Reality bites
Bites like a dog
Dog of war
War is not the answer
Answer the call
Call for help
Help the hopeless
Hopeless romance
Romance the stone
Stone the sinner
Sinner and saint
Saint I ain't
Ain't you
You can't touch this
This is the end
This
End

~Tempest Nightingale LeTrope~

Tempest's Note:
This form is a wild ride! I think I managed to get in all the prompt words except Rush.

  1. That's my kind of stream of mind. And I love the two song references in the end. You can't touch the end because it wall begins again.

  3. Love it and I love the image as the White Rabbit popped up in my mind when I read today's prompt :-)

  4. Hi Ms. Tempest, I like your form. It may be as much or more fun to write than to read. :) I have been wondering if it is one where you can stop when have reached an end or is there a set number of ones required? If any number of lines could be used the "Rush" might fit in with the "Wait" part
(Hurry up and wait; Wait for me; Me and ...)?

  5. Lovely write - I do so love the Blitz Poem! Now you've put a Carroll Blitz Poem into my head - which I've no time to transcribe yet!

We love comments, with three caveats.
Be cool, Fool.
Don't be rude, Dude.
Don't be a prick, Slick.
That's all, Saul.
I try to get comments published as quickly as possible. I don't always reply to comments on my blog, but I do try to visit as many people as possible when I participate in blog hops and I share links where possible to Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and such so others can discover your work. I do read and appreciate your comments.
