Limerick-Off: Blow My Stack

Limerick-Off: Blow my Stack
by
Adam

Yosemite Sam was blowing his stack
He just couldn't keep it on track
Wherever he sailed, without fail
He was trailed by a whale
And his senses were beginning to crack

A to Z Blogging Challenge: F is for Freestyle

A to Z Blogging Challenge: F is for Freestyle
by
Spectra Ghostseeker

Ah, Freestyle. My Favorite Form of Fonicks! (No, that's not a real word, or at least it's not spelled like that and it doesn't mean anything in this context.)
I like Freestyling. I don't have to give a Fuck about any Foolish Rules. Don't have to Fiddle around with couplets or rhymes or syllables. I'm Free to let My Freak Flag Fly.
So I will, in the Following Freestyle.

Feeling This Way

I'm feeling way too bipolar
Way too broke
Way too little hopeful
Way too overwhelmed
I'm ideating suicide
Wishing the asteroid would hit
Or my car would blow up
Or I'd drive off a cliff
Because if I'm to be really really honest
(Which I am on days like this)
I really don't think it will ever get any better.
I'm getting too old to fool myself any more
Too jaded to believe in dreams
When is my ship coming in?
Bastard already sailed.
You think I'm too bitter
Too pessimistic
Too gloomy, too grim
I think I don't care
So, I'm feeling this way
But unlike a lot of people
I'll say it out loud
Or at least through my keyboard.
This is the way I'm feeling
This is the way it is today.

A to Z Blogging Challenge:
E is for Epitaph Style
by
Spectra Ghostseeker

An epitaph style poem is a small blurb as would appear on a tombstone indicating something about the person buried in the grave.
I've got one for my crew.

Here lies the Undead Blogging Team
In the A to Z Challenge, they ran out of steam

Netherworld
Unique Unusual
Accepting Connecting Protecting
Home Haven Asylum Sanctuary
Cocooning Embracing Healing
Zany Incredible
Otherworld

Looks more like a flying saucer to me. But I followed formula, so, there you are.
This describes Cie Cheesemeister's "Netherworld." She conceived this particular fascinating plane based on the idea that the dark realms were misconstrued. The Netherworld is more a sanctuary for outcasts than a place of punishment based on Cheesy's mythology. It became a place where characters of her creation met with characters that she enjoyed from other story lines. There is noplace else like it!

Visit the Undead in the Netherworld blog, if you dare.

C is for Clerihew

Clerihew poetry is named for its creator, Edmund Clerihew Bentley (10 July 1875 – 30 March 1956)

Spectra will pop off a few for you utilizing some of our Netherworld folk, and herself.

Spectra Ghostseeker
Is a Tarot card peeper
A zany old lady
Who tries to make the future less hazy

Photoshop manipulation by Cie Cheesemeister.
Ed is on the left, his guy Dave is on the right.
Evil Ed is one of our borrowed characters. He was our favorite in Fright Night.
Dave, who is our creation, is the twin brother of Dwayne Hicks (IV), another borrowed character.
Actor Stephen Geoffreys, who played Evil Ed, is openly gay. So we thought that Ed should be too.

Evil Ed is a vamp
Who's a little bit camp
We think it's completely okay
That he's openly gay

Stephen Geoffreys played Evil in Fright Night
That he wasn't more famous just ain't right
He's got less hair today
Which is completely okay.

One more, and then I must run!

Lafayette is furry and black
He's a cat, as a matter of fact
Good luck finishing your clerical task
As on papers he likes to crash

Thanks, see you at the Letter D!

B is for Burlesque

B is for Burlesque
by
Gunnar Raven

A Burlesque poem does not necessarily incite people to take their clothes off. It is a poem utilizing ridiculous subject matter. Satire is a form of Burlesque.
A lot of people don't seem to understand Burlesque, which is why they'll never understand the flavor of Undead in the Netherworld. That's okay, though, we'll keep on doing what we do, regardless.

I'm tired, but let me see if I can serve you up some poetry.

Ode to the Netherworld

A highbrow, illustrious land is the World of Nether
Everyone there is so suave, and they dress up all in leather
They allow none in their club but the best of the best
If you don't meet the highest standards, then you're just "the rest."

If you're not the cream of the crop, then all shoulders turn to ice
If you aren't the properest of proper, the reception won't be nice
No weirdos, rejects or freaks will the Netherworld allow
You won't even get in the door unless you're the highest of highbrow

Everyone in the Netherworld is so sophisticated
If you're even second best, be prepared to be underrated
You must dress up every day in your finest of attire
They serve only brie and melba toast while angels play the lyre

If you're looking for a place that loves the oddballs and the freaks
Keep on looking, Loser, the Netherworld allows no geeks
Since you'll be rubbing shoulders with the finest of the fine
Be sure to bring lots of money so you can buy the finest wine

You thought that Heaven had high standards, well the Netherworld has higher
For the minorest of faux pas, you'll be thrown into the fire
It's a green and pleasant land, except nothing's green or pleasant
If your blood isn't the bluest blue, you'll be treated like a peasant

And now I've told my story about this terrible place
If you even look like riff or raff, you'll be thrown out on your face
The Netherworld's the kind of place where no-one can have fun
I'm such an awful liar, t'is time for me to cut and run

~Gunnar~

This poem lives up to the Burlesque style, as it flies in the face of facts that have been previously established. In our mythology, the Netherworld is actually a very accepting place and is home to all variety of rejects from all over the Multiverses.

Please visit Undead in the Netherworld and enjoy prose in the Burlesque tradition as well. It's irreverent, it's ridiculous, and it's just how we like it!

A is for Acrostic

An Acrostic poem is a poem in which each line begins with a letter of a given word or words.

Here is my effort, summing up how I feel of late; how I've felt for a long time, if the truth were to be told.

Working For a Less Than Living
 ******
Tired, so tired, of working each week
Only to have it all gone in a flash
Industrious me, and yet what is it worth?
Lost to the tax man, the holder of the inflated mortgage, the high cost of living

Lies I tell myself to get through the week
About someday getting to the top
Belief is gone, yet I fool myself
Only to turn around and do it all over again
Reaching for a dream I can never achieve

Dreams are for the young and the foolish
Reason is too dismal to contemplate
Unless miracles happen, and they usually don't
Death is the only way out
Gainful employment is an oxymoron
Eventually we all must pay the piper

~Faith~
