You were
My guide and friend
The day I brought you home
You hid until the nighttime came
You learned to feel safe at home with me
I loved you with all of my heart
I felt my heart shatter
When you left me
You were
I will love you forever, Buddy
There are some things you never get over
No matter how many times people insist that you "should"
I can understand how you would never get over the death of your beloved cat. They enrich our lives and love us.
ReplyDeleteThank you. <3
DeleteI totally understand. My wolf-Pup was the love of my life. I have grieved his loss for eight years and always will. So sad Lafayette died so young. Heartbreaking. He looks so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sherry. I'm sorry for your loss of Wolf-Pup.
DeleteHope your sadness lessens as time passes. Thank you for dropping by my sumie Sunday
ReplyDeleteMuch❤🕊❤love
Thank you. My grief really hasn't lessened and it's been four years. I rather doubt it ever will.

I had a cat Garfield. He was a feral cat that just ran into my step dad's arms one day when attempting to escape from a teasing child. He was a wild little guy at first but grew into a very loving and easygoing cat. I was very attached to him and although it has been a very long-time since his death I still miss him and have vivid dreams of him where it really does seem like he pays me a visit to say hello. After Garfield my mom had other cats but I was older and didn't live with her and eventually moved overseas. I just bought my own cat last week for the first time. She also happens to be an orange kitty, it just turned out that way because I hadn't been looking to get a cat that resembled Garfield and inquired about multiple cats that did not have a resemblance but it just worked out that I ended up with the one kitty that did look like him.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes see my feline friends in dreams too. I think that they really do come back to visit us sometimes.
DeleteI've had many pets. After the last, we decided no more for the time being. We've mostly always had shelter animals.
ReplyDeleteI don't think one has to get over the delightful memories of our pet-family. As most add so much to our lives.
Thanks for visiting my post on MLMM's prompt :)
Thank you. Between my son and me, we still have three cats. We decided there probably won't be any more after the last one goes. We are not in a good position for it financially, and for my own part, I just can't bear the grief of losing any more of them.
DeleteI know, how I would feel, if Star, Squeak or Venus were to leave me. An emotionally broken soul, as the tears flow, in my grief. Please accept my condolences on your feline friend lost.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. :-)
DeleteA feline friend like this will always be missed.
