Spring Snow
spring snow
purifies earth and heaven –
our enemies perish
spring snow
hearing the army's approach
grows red with spilled blood
purifies earth and heaven
the god of war triumphant
the bodies burning
our enemies perish
we see our enemy's face
when looking in glass

Notes:
The "sleigh" in this grim Troiku was written by Mizuhara Shûôshi (9 Oct 1892–17 July 1981) . The three horses of the Apocalypse were created by me.

I thought this one was tricky, but you’ve pulled the sleigh to life with your three horses of the Apocalypse! The imagery is powerful, especially in the first stanza, with the contrast of snow and blood, and the burning bodies in the second stanza.
ReplyDeletein wars, such as they are, we most often do end up seeing ourselves reflected back - such as the cycles are -
ReplyDeleteYou created an exciting short story with your Troiku.
