OctPoWriMo 2015: Day 1

Clouds

When I was young
I dreamed of flying
Of playing happy games
With the fantastic creatures
Whose shapes I saw floating in the clouds

When I look up now
As a man around halfway through his life
I reflect on many memories
Some happy, some sad
I see in the clouds opportunities for new beginnings

    1. I dream of flying every now and then. I did almost every night as a child. It's interesting how many people report this childhood dream as a common experience.

    1. I know what you mean. I was actually bullied surprisingly little, given that I've always been a big guy. I was on the wrestling team and did pretty well, plus I've always forced myself to be pretty outgoing and sociable, so people tended to like me. However, the stress of being in the closet and hating myself for thinking there was something wrong with me for my sexual preference is something that I wouldn't wish on anybody! I'm much happier as an out and proud, happily married middle aged guy.

    1. There are such wonderful things to be seen and imagined in the clouds! I regret that I have to remind myself to take the time to look now, but am always happy when I do. It's fun having a second childhood, even if for only a few minutes snatched here and there!

    1. Thank you, on behalf of Adam. I agree, what I would have imagined to be unbearable when I was younger I simply see as part of life in my middle years.

  10. There's something about looking up at the clouds (especially at night) that makes you feel free. Well done.

I may be a little odd (actually, I know I'm a little odd) but I love clouds and rain. Rainy days don't bother me at all.

We love comments, with three caveats.
Be cool, Fool.
Don't be rude, Dude.
Don't be a prick, Slick.
That's all, Saul.
I try to get comments published as quickly as possible. I don't always reply to comments on my blog, but I do try to visit as many people as possible when I participate in blog hops and I share links where possible to Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and such so others can discover your work. I do read and appreciate your comments.
