What Good Can Come From Memories?

Free use image by Albrecht Fietz on Pixabay

what good does it do me to toil and plough
the fallow fields of my mind in search of thou
or memories of this and that
or then and there, or what and where

what good is a memory of a broken vow?
what use in the memory of a broken bough?
bringing tears to my eyes and furrowing to my brow
perhaps all is best forgotten now
