Carpe Diem Field of Flowers: Columbine

they say columbine
is the flower for my state
I've never seen one
growing in the wild places
on the hills or in the plains

Ghost Town Grover and Cactus Clem wanted to share their poems too!
Please understand that they wouldn't know

A Columbine Poem
by
Ghost Town Grover

I might of seen a columbine
When I was working in the mine
Trouble is, I wouldn't know
'Cause I wasn't looking for nothing except for gold!

Cactus Clem's Columbine Poem

I might like to see a columbine
But what I really like is to drink wine
I like some beer and whiskey too
But I don't never eat no stew
Eatin' isn't in my plan
But I gotta drink 'cause I'm a Cactus Man

  1. I wonder if Columbus took columbines to America.

    1. Good question--I don't know!
Columbines are the Colorado State Flower. I have never seen them growing in the wild. There are a few at the Denver Botanic Gardens.

We love comments, with three caveats.
Be cool, Fool.
Don't be rude, Dude.
Don't be a prick, Slick.
That's all, Saul.
I try to get comments published as quickly as possible. I don't always reply to comments on my blog, but I do try to visit as many people as possible when I participate in blog hops and I share links where possible to Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and such so others can discover your work. I do read and appreciate your comments.
