OctPoWriMo 2016: Day 30: Simplicity

Simplicity
A duet between the living and the Undead

Her:
To love you would be simplicity, except I'm so afraid
Of being used by another liar in the lying liars parade
You're so perfect, you're so fine
You've stolen my heart and stolen my mind
You say you want to be mine, but I'm afraid if you get too close
You'll disappear along with my heart just like Casanova's ghost

Him:
To love you would be simplicity, except you won't let me in
Our love ain't got a chance to end if you won't even let it begin
I like being by your side, it's something I don't want to quit
Let me show you how I feel for you, even just a little bit
I ain't no Casanova, no Hugh Hefner, no Don Juan
I only want to love you, never want to do you wrong

Her:
Love ain't no simplicity
Love will be the death of me

Him:
If you let me give my love to you
There ain't nothing we can't do

Her:
I want to let you love me
I want to let you close
But I can't help wondering how many other girls
Love my pretty little ghost

Him:
They can love me all they want to
But I won't let them near
It's only your love that I want
Only you I want for my dear

Her:
I'm gonna let you love me
I'm gonna let you try
But I promise you're gonna suffer
If you ever make me cry

Him:
I never want to leave you
Never want to make you afraid
If anything I do ever grieves you
You can send me back to my grave

Her:
It would be simplicity to let you in

Him:
Then let me in
And we can begin

Both:
A love that's for eternity
A love that lasts forever
May not be simplicity
But we'll work to stay together

OctPoWriMo 2016: Day 29: Upside Down

Upside Down

Like a planet that's lost its gravity
Everything went topsy turvy for me
My life turned upside down
My life turned upside down

There was nothing that could be repaired
I was left alone and running scared
My world was upside down
My world was upside down

Nobody knew me any more
I felt like no-one gave a damn
I came lost and lonely to your door
You didn't have to, but you let me in

I couldn't help falling in love with you
I was afraid, and so were you
Your world turned upside down
The day I came to town

I don't want to hurt you, Baby
I just want to make things right
Let's take this upside down world of ours
And help each other see the light

Let's make it right
Let's make it right
Let's make it right

(Not So) Wordless Wednesday: He Will Not Be Forgotten

Note:
The following song was written about a romantic breakup. It takes on a different connotation when applied to the scenario in which a person is losing their memories but another remembers everything for and about them. I never touched the person whom this post honors. He is something seraphic in my eyes, too good for this ugly world.
I struggled with whether or not to even post this, so if you comment, be decent about it, would ya?

Seven months to the day since I saw your face
You roam the earth like a fire holding out 'til the bitter end
You're holding on 'til the bitter end

I take a walk into town
It's like a dead-end street
The sidewalk sings your name underneath my feet
Echoes of forgotten love

Baby, where did you go?
Did you sail away over some distant ocean?
Darling, what we had
It cannot be taken
It cannot be stolen
And it won't be forgotten
No, it won't be forgotten

Summer disappears like a dream I had
And winter comes with a knife that cuts you down
And it never ends
Ooh, it never ends

I hurry past the place you like to drink alone
Seven months to the day you left me here on this avenue
And now I think of you

Baby, where did you go?
Did you sail away over some distant ocean?
Darling, what we had
It cannot be taken
It cannot be broken
And it won't be forgotten
No, it won't be forgotten

Seven months to the day and you don't leave a trace
I search the cracks in the ground, the tallest buildings
They never knew, oh they never knew

Baby, where did you go?
Did you sail away over some distant ocean?
Darling, what we had
It cannot be taken
It cannot be broken
And it won't be forgotten

Baby, where did you go?
Did you sail away over some distant ocean?
Darling, what we had
It cannot be taken
It cannot be stolen
And it won't be forgotten
No, it won't be forgotten
