Senryu: All of Me

I was unable to find the creator of this image. If anyone knows, I am more than happy to credit them.

I am very tired
Of things being hard, you know
 She has had enough

The prompt today asked us to play with voice. So I wrote one line in first person, one in second person (sort of), and one in third person.
I like short poems because they help me avoid creating verbal vomit, which is something I'm all too good at.

Pollyanna Positivity

When I'm working long hours
For almost no money
And am in danger of losing everything
And it's come to the point
Where I have to think along the lines
of this:
When all but one of my three cats are dead
I can put some things in storage
And throw out or give away the rest
And then I can live in one of those places
That you can rent by the week or the month
Because I have nowhere I can go
You see, I can't stand to live with my mother
And living with my son
Would put a strain on our relationship
Because he likes to live alone
And I don't want to be a burden
I don't have the money
To make my nice used car
Which I'm still paying off
Look pretty again
After the hailstorm which damaged it
My son is helping me pay for it
I have skills
Which I can only use
In circumstances where I can pace myself
Because of my declining
Endocrine health
I nearly passed out
The last time I tried
To work in a nursing home
If I ever have to go into a nursing home
I will kill myself
That is not hyperbole
I cannot and will not
Live in one of those places
For me, that would be a death sentence
The end of the line
Now, you can tell me to keep fighting
But if all you have to offer
Is Pollyanna Positivity
Where you're going to tell me to be happy
Or trust your god
Whom I don't believe in, by the way
(I'm not an atheist, I just don't believe in THAT god)
Then I'm going to tell you
To please just keep walking
And don't start talking
Because it will only
Make things worse
Between my declining health
And my declining money
And being on the verge
Of losing everything
Pollyanna Positivity
Will only bring out the worst in me
You wouldn't like me when I see red

My Wish

My Wish

Things are going well for me
I'm happy in my career
I've found the love of my life
I like the place where I live

I miss my dad, my uncle, and my little grand-nephew, who was only with us for a short time
The rest of my family is doing okay for the most part
But some of them are struggling

I wish I could do more to help my loved ones whose lives aren't going as well
Who are mired in depression and dissatisfaction
Who have been faced with overwhelming change
I wish I had the means to take your pain away

I sometimes feel so helpless
But my sympathetic tears
Have no magic powers

I can offer you a shoulder to cry on
I don't have the monetary means to do more
Than buy you a sandwich now and then
I wish I did

I can give you advice, for what it's worth
But I can't take away your depression
I can't heal the illnesses that you can't afford to see the doctor for

These days, a dollar doesn't go very far
We're all struggling
I just wish you didn't have to struggle so hard

I wish it were easier to change jobs
So those of you who have come to hate yours
Could find a different line of work
I wish that education didn't cost so much
So you could train for something new

I wish I could wish on every star
And bring each of you what you needed most
I wish we could all speak to our loved ones in Heaven
And know that they're okay

I wish we could all mend fences
Heal wounds
Have second and third and fourth chances at happiness
Know that we're worthwhile
No matter where we live or what we drive

I wish I could give all of you happiness
For that is the most important thing of all
